COUNTY MIDDLE SCHOOL YOUTH PICNIC, SUNDAY, AUGUST 22, 1:00-6:00 P.M. at Old Economy Park, Shelter #4. All middle school teens (incoming 6th thru incoming 8th) are welcome to join us for a county-wide Youth Ministry Picnic. Meet teens from all over Beaver County! We will gather at 1:00 p.m. and celebrate mass at 2:00 p.m. We will have lots of food, games and prizes. Be sure to bring your friends this day! Cost: $10 per teen or $8 per teen if you bring a canned good for the food bank. RSVP WITH MONEY AND PERMISSION SLIP TO THE YOUTH MINISTER’S OFFICE NO LATER THAN AUGUST 16. Bring your canned good item to the picnic.

HIGH SCHOOL MINISTRY
IMPACT NIGHT, MONDAY, AUGUST 2, 6:30 - 8:30 PM
Come and join us for another fun-packed night.
PLAY AND PRAY, 11:45 AM - 2:00 PM We will have a summer session of “Play and Pray” during the day EVERY WEDNESDAY from 11:45 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Teens get to sleep in! We will start with having pizza for lunch, and then we will have a discussion whether it’s on the Bible or a church teaching or dealing with every day issues. Then we will play the rest of the time either in the gym or out on the lawn. COST: $3 per person (to help pay for lunch).

DIOCESAN CHOIR AUDITIONS for the 2010-2011 Diocesan Choir season will soon be held. The Choir, under the direction of Fr. Jim Chepponis, Music Director for the Diocese of Pittsburgh, sings for the major Diocesan events at St. Paul Cathedral throughout the year. Currently there are openings in the soprano, alto, tenor, and bass sections. In addition to being good singers, potential members must be capable sight-readers due to a limited rehearsal schedule and at least 18 years of age. Rehearsals are held at St. John Capistran Church in Upper St. Clair. Audition times may be scheduled by calling Doris Anne in the Diocesan Music Office 412-456-3042 before August 11.

The Beaver County Office for Catholic Charities has moved from Brodhead Road, Monaca. They are now located at 276 East End Avenue, Beaver, PA 15009. The phone number is 724-775-0758. Catholic Charities is the primary social service agency of the Diocese of Pittsburgh serving all regardless of religious affiliation in their time of greatest need.

Do you know someone who is interested in becoming a member of the Catholic Church? Those who have no religious background or who have been raised in another church are invited to learn about the Catholic Church and to prepare, if this is their desire, for the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Eucharist. Invite them to be a part of the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) process. RCIC is for children who have not been baptized or received First Holy Communion and are in grades three or above. They should enroll in the Christian Initiation for Children Program.
