Dear Parishioners, This first Sunday of February is marked to honor all those men and women who live the vows of Consecrated Life. Their witness is so important - especially in our world where success and happiness is equated with material possessions. They remind us that dedication to others in the name of Jesus is a fulfilling and joyous way to live one’s life. How blessed this parish is to have had the witness of Sr. Grace and so many members of the Sisters of Divine Providence over the years. As well, we have the Capuchins living right here on our property - another blessing. We should be proud to say there are Religious Vocations coming from this parish - so let’s continue to pray for our young people that there may be even more. Please pray as well for all vowed Religious that God has used to touch your life. If anyone did not get to read Bishop Zubik’s article in last week’s Pittsburgh Catholic, there are extra copies in the magazine rack. Please think about his words regarding this very important issue. Thanks to everyone who prepared and supported the Pig Roast last Saturday evening. As well, thanks to all who volunteered for all the Catholic Schools Week activities. Pastoral Council expressed concern about the safety of those who park and cross the street at Lincoln on Sundays. Thanks to the kindness of the Beaver Police Department, a crossing sign was quickly obtained. What we need now are volunteers: 2 for Saturday afternoon to put it out and 2 for Sunday afternoon to bring it back in. It is more awkward than heavy.
