VALENTINE RETREAT FOR MARRIED COUPLES In celebration of World Marriage Day, St. Joseph Spirituality Center in Baden is sponsoring a “Valentine Retreat” for Married Couples. This day of reflection includes presentations on the spirituality of marriage, time for sharing as a couple, and an opportunity to renew marriage vows at liturgy. Presenters include Sister Marguerite Kropinak, CSJ, and Jean and John Ward, Engaged Encounter team members. The retreat will be held at St. Joseph Spirituality Center on Sunday, February 12, from 12:30-6:00 p.m. The fee of $55.00 per couple includes a candlelight dinner. To register, call 724-869-6587.
World Marriage Day is celebrated the weekend of February 11-12, 2012. There will be a diocesan celebration of WORLD MARRIAGE DAY on Saturday, February 11, at St. Killian Parish, Cranberry Township. It will begin with Mass at 5:30 p.m. with Very Reverend Phil Farrell, VG, Vicar for Vicariate 4, as the presider and homilist. Following Mass there will be a wine and cheese reception in the parish hall. A presentation by Reverend Charles Bober, Pastor of St. Kilian, will follow. Scout Troop 406 is sponsoring a CRAFT SHOW AND SALE on Saturday, February 11, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the First Presbyterian Church on College Avenue in Beaver. Over 25 professional crafters will be on site along with a bake sale, Chinese auction and snack bar. Admission $1 or a canned foodstuff for the Rochester Food Pantry.
Our Lady of Peace in Conway is taking a bus trip to see JONAH at the Sight and Sound Millennium Theatre in Lancaster, Saturday and Sunday, March 24-25, 2012. The trip includes bus, dinner at the “Plain and Fancy” Restaurant, tickets to Jonah, overnight lodging at the Country Inn and Suites, breakfast, Mass at St. Anthony of Padua Church and all tips. The Secretariat for Catholic Education and the Department for Youth and Young Adult Ministry will be sponsoring a MIDDLE SCHOOL RETREAT on March 3-4, 2012 and a HIGH SCHOOL RETREAT on March 9-11, 2012. PARISH NURSE AND HEALTH MINISTRY PROGRAM is being offered by Pittsburgh Mercy Health System. This program is a four-day Parish Nurse Preparation Course which will be offered on February 17-18 and March 16-17. The course will be held in Sister M. Ferdinand Clark Auditorium at UPMC Mercy. HELPING HANDS FOR WOMEN WITH CANCER! Center Civic Women’s Club announces INSPIRATIONS 2012, an annual fund raiser to benefit Beaver County women diagnosed with cancer. The profits from this event support two programs: PATHWAYS provided by Homemakers-Home Health Aide Service of Beaver County, Inc. (724-774-4002) assists patients undergoing cancer treatment with personal care, laundry, simple food preparation, light housekeeping, etc.; and the CCWC Cancer Fund at Heritage Valley Beaver (724-749-7121) provides wigs and bras. Both programs are free to women who qualify. INSPIRATION 2012 - a fashion show, luncheon, auctions, etc. - will be held on Saturday, March 24, at The Club at Shadow Lakes. Fashions will be presented by Christopher and Banks. Tickets are available now at $30.00 each on a first come-first served basis. Raffle tickets offering $1,000, a gourmet dinner for six at the Wooden Angel, and a $200.00 gas card are also available at $2/each or 3 for $5.
